Discover Your Perfect Rug

Our Story

Fomelina started on the first day of 2019 in Rosmalen, a quiet town just outside 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. What began as a simple idea between Mohammed Ali Nikbakht and Bizhan Nikbakht, later joined by Behrouz Farmani Malayeri, has grown into an online rug store that people across the country now trust when they want to make their homes feel warmer and more personal.

We have always believed that a rug does more than cover a floor. It is often the first thing you notice when you walk into a room, and the last thing you think about when you are trying to work out why a space still feels unfinished. The right rug brings a room together. It softens your footsteps, adds warmth on cold mornings and gives your home a character that is truly your own.

From the start, we chose to sell mainly online. We wanted to make it easy for anyone to find a beautiful rug without driving from shop to shop or settling for whatever happened to be in stock nearby. Running Fomelina from Rosmalen as a small, hands on team means we stay close to every part of the business, from choosing the pieces we sell to answering your questions ourselves.

Today our collection includes area rugs for living rooms and bedrooms, handmade designs with real craftsmanship behind every knot and weave, and decorative floor coverings that add comfort and personality to hallways, dining areas, nurseries and home offices. Some of our customers come to us looking for a statement piece, while others simply want something soft and practical that will hold up to everyday life with kids and pets. We love helping with both.

We take our time selecting each rug. We look at the quality of the materials, the feel underfoot, how the colours hold up in natural light and how well the piece will last over the years. If we would not happily put it in our own homes, it does not make it onto our website.

What matters most to us is that you feel good about your purchase long after it arrives. That is why we try to be honest in our descriptions, clear in our photos and quick to help whenever you reach out. A rug is something you live with every day, so it should be chosen with care, and we are here to make that choice easier.

Thank you for visiting Fomelina. Whether you are furnishing a new home or giving a favourite room a fresh start, we hope you find something here that makes your space feel just right.
